Positano

Positano is a pearl of the Amalfi Coast. It is surely one of the most beautiful locations in the world with its pastel coloured houses, clinging vertically to the Lattari Mountains, reflected in the clear sea below and surrounded by the fragrance of lemons and the vivid colours of bougainvillea.

According to legend, the town was founded by people from Paestum who were escaping from the Saracens in the 9th century.

The town of Positano is located on one of the most beautiful valleys of the Amalfi Coast and the valley opens up to a stretch of coastline. At the centre of Positano, you can admire the dome of the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, which is covered in green and yellow majolica tiles. Inside, it preserves remains of an antique Byzantine floor, which are visible in the apse, and the wooden icon depicting the Black Madonna which according to the legend arrived here by sea.

The glamorous side of the town is known for "Moda Positano”, high-end fashion which is famous worldwide. Most famous are the leather sandals, which you can have hand made while you wait, ceramics and limoncello.

Visitors can also take advantage of the beautiful beaches for relaxation or water sports.
